Freelance events are a great way to spread your wings in the freelancing world. They help to get your name out to your peers, as well as other professionals within the same industry as you or industries that you are interested in getting involved with. The more opportunities where you get to know your peers and gain different types of skills to enhance your work, the better!
Because of this, we are continuing from the first blog in the ‘Freelance Events Round Up’ series to bring you some events that will be occurring during September.
September 7th – Everyone Owns IP… What do you own?
This event in Cardiff is particularly tailored for business advisors and other freelancers that work with small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The event is actually a workshop that aims to give the participants a good overview of intellectual property (IP) and how it can impact freelancers working with SMEs and business advisors.
The workshop serves as an activity day to get the participants involved with practice scenarios in which IP is crucial to a business, to understand why they are so important and, if they have any consequences associated with them, how to fix them in order to benefit the company. September 21st – VentureFest Manchester 2016
If there’s one way to get your name out, get involved with workshops, and listen to inspirational speakers, it’s this exciting Manchester event. VentureFest offers a fantastic opportunity to meet editors, business professionals, academics and other incredibly skilled individuals that are willing to share their vast wealth of knowledge.
The day itself consists of talks by these individuals followed by showcases, workshops, and competitions. If you pre-book as well, you can get the chance to have a one-to-one session with one of the experts, which is a great opportunity for freelancers to gain experience and skills that will benefit them in the long run.
After being in Glasgow on September 1st, the next VentureFest is in Manchester at the Bridgewater Hall. VentureFest also allows you to pre-book your place, so if you are interested, head over to the event page.
September 26th – 27th – SiriusDecisions Summit Europe
This event takes place annually, and this year you can experience it yourself at the Hilton Metropole on Edgware Road in London. For 2016, the event will discuss and explore the concepts of art and science expressed through music and sound.
And what’s the reason for this? Well, the different structural elements used in music are similar to key business processes that advisors and other associated business freelancers use every day, as well as businesses themselves.
The purpose of Summit Europe is to provide individuals with fact-based solutions to real-life challenges, and to make them understand these important aspects of the business world. We’ll leave you to check it out.
